On January 1, 2016, I started the You Are Project. The project involved hand coloring stickers and then writing empowering phrases on them, all of which start with "You Are." After completing the stickers, they were placed in public spaces and on items where they could be seen by people in the hopes of improving their day. Often times, the stickers would be removed by the cleaning crews that work in the mornings, and so a sticker that I placed just hours ago might be gone the next time I walked by. The project then grew into creating postcards, all of which are hand colored and then printed with the help of local letterpress printer, Lynda Sherman (http://www.bremelopress.com/). Finally, these postcards were sent out across the United States - some to people I knew, some to people that I don't know.
